Saving money with coupons.

I went to an Enrichment Night last night on frugal living. There was a lady there who talked about saving as much as 80% on your grocery bill by using coupons. I have tried this before, but didn't really get much out of it. I am trying it again to see if I can't save even more now. I was so excited that I had a hard time going to sleep last night, and I woke up this morning excited to see what I can do to save today. After searching the site http://sahmmoney.blogspot.com/ I was able to find some really great local deals coupled with coupons that came in the paper. I realize I am just starting out, and there is vast amounts I still need to learn, but I wanted to show everyone how I did today.

2 boxes Fiber One cereal
1 box Fiber One toaster pastries
1 box Fiber One instant pancake mix
1 box Fiber One chewy granola bars
1 can Progresso Soup

I also combined these with Manufacturers Coupons from the newspaper (which were then doubled at the store). As I learned at the website above, if I buy 15 dollars worth of these products I get $5 dollars off instantly at the end of my order. So grand total for all was:

$9.44!

That's $1.57 per item! I would pay 1.57 for any one of these items. Even the cereal, which, by the way, I have a personal limit of $2.00 for a box.
Full price would have been $20.44. I saved over 50% this time.
Now I understand that Fiber One products might not be the choice of all families, but in ours, we love anything with fiber in it! So this deal was the bomb for us. So, so far so good!
