Still Saving

Since I live in Okinawa, it's hard to maintain the awesome deals that I am so used to getting in the states. So I have turned to online shopping. My favorite for books and movies is Half.com. It's a great store and since we still sport the trusty VCR we can get movies from my childhood for cheap!
Also I have been loving Bath and Bodyworks online too! My last order totaled $39 and I was able to get 10 regular-sized items. I used online promo codes and store sales to save big. I'm glad that I can still save here.

Saving again!

Here's what I got at Shoppers today since they had double coupons up to 1.00. That popcorn was FREE and they paid me .50 to take the Mentos gum because it was 1.50 and they doubled my 1.00 off coupon. Free Gum! All the cereal was 1.00 each, but I also got a catalina coupon at then end of my order for 5.00 my next purchase. I know it's alot of yogurt, but I got a smashing deal and my kids will devour it. Total for todays trip: 37.88 for 45 items. That's .84 cents for each item. I think that is my best yet!

Shoppers Trip!!

Today I went to Shoppers and they had a deal where if you buy 10 General Mills products you get a coupon for $10 off your next transaction. Well I had coupons that went along with those items AND they were tripling coupons up to .50 and doubling from there to 1.00! So I did 3 transactions and got a $10 off next transaction coupons with each (adding it to the next order as I went). Okay so it's kind of confusing to write it all out, but here is what I got!
First Transaction: 10 items for 14.75 (got a $10 coupon).
Second Transaction: 10 items for 16.08-$10 coupon (got a $10 coupon).
Third Transaction: 10 items for 18.12-$10 coupon (got a $10 coupon AND a $2.50 off next transaction coupon AND a coupon for 1.50 off GM cereals!)
So the grand total was 28.95 for 30 items (.97 each item!) and I still have 12.50 in coupons off my next order there! WOW!

Shoppers Trip

Okay today I went to Shoppers because they had TRIPLE coupons! So I thought I'd go and see what I could do. I bought 24 items and paid only 25.84. Thats like a dollar and some change per item. It's like I shop at the dollar store, but with better quality. My best bargain? I bought a 4 pack of Bic Comfort 3 Pivot razors for Ed. Regular price 3.19, I had a coupon for 2.00 off so that made them 1.19. Bonus!!! I got the pack that gave you 2 free razors! 6 razors for 1.19! This is the first time in a long time I haven't dreaded going to the grocery store. I feel I have more control of where my money goes.

First week of full shopping

Well I don't think I did so bad this week. I had to go to 4 stores, but they werent all very far from each other. So today we spent a total of 89.64 for our groceries. However, I saved 35.51 in coupons and store savings. So I got 125.15 worth of groceries for 89.64. I also was able to stock up on a few things.
Right now I'm just getting incredibly frustrated with our slow computer! So I am going to have to do something about it!

Saving money with coupons.

I went to an Enrichment Night last night on frugal living. There was a lady there who talked about saving as much as 80% on your grocery bill by using coupons. I have tried this before, but didn't really get much out of it. I am trying it again to see if I can't save even more now. I was so excited that I had a hard time going to sleep last night, and I woke up this morning excited to see what I can do to save today. After searching the site http://sahmmoney.blogspot.com/ I was able to find some really great local deals coupled with coupons that came in the paper. I realize I am just starting out, and there is vast amounts I still need to learn, but I wanted to show everyone how I did today.

2 boxes Fiber One cereal
1 box Fiber One toaster pastries
1 box Fiber One instant pancake mix
1 box Fiber One chewy granola bars
1 can Progresso Soup

I also combined these with Manufacturers Coupons from the newspaper (which were then doubled at the store). As I learned at the website above, if I buy 15 dollars worth of these products I get $5 dollars off instantly at the end of my order. So grand total for all was:

$9.44!

That's $1.57 per item! I would pay 1.57 for any one of these items. Even the cereal, which, by the way, I have a personal limit of $2.00 for a box.
Full price would have been $20.44. I saved over 50% this time.
Now I understand that Fiber One products might not be the choice of all families, but in ours, we love anything with fiber in it! So this deal was the bomb for us. So, so far so good!
